Both QuickBooks and the standard version of DentaLab for QuickBooks (DQB) provide for limiting access to specific functions by establishing logins and passwords. The DQB Starter version is designed for single stations and does not include security measures.
-
For QuickBooks, the levels of security vary for each of its Pro, Premier and Enterprise versions. You can review these by clicking Help and searching on security to learn the details for your version.
-
For the DQB Standard version, there are established levels for Manager, Case Entry, Entry, Technician and Technician Plus. The Help guide gives you the specific functions allowed for each of these levels. The options for Users & Security and for Restore Database are restricted to the Manager level.
-
In Users & Security, the Manager can create an unlimited number of additional Custom levels, giving each one a name and then assigning each to specific personnel. For the Custom levels, you can choose to grant access to the main menu sections for Basic Lists, Cases, Customer Center, Reports and Options/Settings or for specific options within each of these menus.
-
In DentalRx, the Manager establishes and controls the security codes to provide access by the dental office customers for submitting prescriptions, checking on case status, establishing preferences and other communications.
